The COVID-19 pandemic is a universal experience that we all went through simultaneously. With every country helping each other out despite their political differences, we witnessed the world coming together, which our planet hadn’t seen for decades.
Hence, it gave rise to the question, is world peace possible?
Well, although the world has returned to its political, economic, and regional wars now, oddly enough, the coronavirus did spark a bit of hope for the world. That said, world peace won’t be possible without certain efforts.
Following are some steps that the world can take together to make world peace possible:
Invest in our youth
These youngsters today will become the leaders of tomorrow. Shaping these young personalities will not only ensure their well-being but also establish strong leadership in the future that will help bridge the gap between countries.
Practice tolerance and acceptance
Our planet is beautifully diverse. Accepting the colorful culture worldwide can open doors to communication. Similarly, tolerance will aid us in embracing our differences to work on making this world a better place.
Recognizing each other’s problems
Every country has its own issues. By uniting, we can solve world problems like hunger, poverty, racial discrimination, global warming, etc., and create a world focused on making significant changes rather than gaining territorial victories.
Begin with community-based peacebuilding
Before taking all these measures, perhaps the most important place to start this process is urban communities and emphasizing fair distribution of wealth. This can truly work wonders for underprivileged communities.
Promote political and regional peace
World peace will be unattainable until wars are bid farewell. We need leaders who are determined to work for the betterment of people worldwide rather than pushing their own agendas and beliefs.
Let us ask you now, is world peace possible? Yes, but it is not something that can happen overnight. It requires vigorous efforts and constant self-reflection to ensure we are on the right path.
Youth With A Future is dedicated to making tomorrow a little brighter. Our youth-centered programs help children from urban communities gain perspective, polish their skills, and become the future leaders that this world needs. Join us in this cause by volunteering in our programs and donating to our nonprofit so we can play strong and make a difference in this world.
