The world has changed dramatically over the course of a few years. Today’s youth face different problems than those of yesterday. Unfortunately, the issues students face today have also become drastic with time. However, looking toward the Bible can help figure out life and the best way to address situations that may cause harm.
Here are some critical issues students face today and Bible verses that will help overcome these challenges:
Violence in School
The biggest issue students face today is violence in school. From shootings to bullying at the hands of teachers or students, the dynamics of a safe place for students have changed. Violence can never be the answer. If you have been a victim of violence in school, seek help.
Remember:
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
Mental Health
Mental health issues are rising for many students. Violence, cyberbullying, and substance abuse have become a cause of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts in students today. That said, having mental and emotional issues is not shameful. It simply shows how vulnerable human minds can be. Don’t lose hope in such times. God is always by your side.
The Bible says:
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Materialism
Constant access to everyone’s life has made humans quite conscious. Now everyone wants to show the world that they own the best of everything and are the happiest person in the world. Social media has elevated materialism, and the youth is now focused on buying bigger and better things instead of improving their hearts and minds.
According to the Bible:
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (1 Timothy 6:10)
Youth with a Future has plenty of resources and tools available for young minds to help them find comfort in the Bible and guide them toward the path of righteousness!
