With all the uncertainty and fear around us today, it is important for us, as Christians, to have faith and stand strong through the trials and tribulations that fall upon us. God has given us the ability to have faith so we can find peace and purpose in life. Here are some verses of the Bible to help us get through difficult times when the future seems uncertain:
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
- Proverbs: 3:5-6
You have to trust in God with all your heart, but sometimes when things get too much, you might feel a bit shaken. It is important to remember that God is concerned about everything that concerns us and that He is there to listen and direct your path.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
- Isaiah: 55:8-9
The world tells you that you should be able to handle your own life, but God’s ways are different from ours. His ways are much higher, and therefore, when things go wrong, we shouldn’t worry about the things that we are unable to handle, but focus instead on trusting Him and knowing that He will handle the difficulties for us, and make things easier. Your job is to have faith and leave ourselves in His hands.
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless."
- Psalm: 84:11
We might think that something is bad for us, but it might not be, and we might think that something is good for us, but it may not be. We should trust in Him and now that He knows best, and much more than we do. He is well aware of what outcomes can come out of something and what the future holds. Therefore, in tough times, we should pray to Him and ask Him to give us good things.
"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."
- Psalm: 143:8
This world and what we see in it are not everything there is to life. The world may deceive us into believing so, but there is much more to God’s creation than what is visible to us. We need to have faith that God knows the way, and that He can lead us through our lives when we don’t know what to do because He knows where we should go and how to get there. When we are unsure of ourselves and our future, we can be certain that He will guide us.
