Anthony Brown: I Got That!
According to Billboard ‘I Got That!’ was the most added song at gospel radio early this year. The urban-flavored song made onto the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart and was there for a number of weeks. The jam which is triumph-over-tribulation affirmation focuses on how we are more alike than different. It therefore encourages us that whatever goes on around us and whatever the circumstances that envelope us, we can keep moving on rest assured that Jesus is by our side and has our best interest at heart.
Anthony Jamar Brown born on October 1981 began singing professionally in 2012 when he and his group released a self-styled album Anthony Brown & Group TherAPy. It was released under the label of Tyscot Records. The album went on to top charts and stay on the Billboard. This album was a sign of better things to come as it earned him 2 Stellar Awards and a Dove Award nomination. Since then, Anthony Brown & group therAPy have been instrumental in shifting the paradigm of the who’s who in Gospel music and causing more and more people to fall in love with gospel music.
The second album Everyday released in 2015 took things up a notch. The album was a mega commercial success, earning him numerous accolades. The lead single of the album “Worth” spent as many as 26 weeks at the top of the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart. Brown received his first Grammy Award nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song, 3 Billboard Music Award nominations as well as a BET Award nomination. He also won 2 Dove Awards and an unprecedented 10 awards out of 10 nominations at the 2016 Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
His third album “A Long Way From Sunday” was released in July 2017, and it debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart.
